Quality horse betting tips are essential to the novice bettor in this high risk high reward industry. Straight bets have always been around but quality horse racing tips and techniques really come into play when considering the more exotic and complicated bets. These intra-bets allow patrons to place multiple bets on different horses for any of the first top four places or exactly in the order they are picked originally. This way of betting is less than half a decade old but does have the potential to yield far greater returns then traditional betting. Those high rewards can easily turn to heavy losses when the inexperienced use intra-bets incorrectly. The different types of intra-race bets worthy of discussion are Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and Superfecta bets.
Quinella bets pay the least of these intra-bets and is also perhaps the most elementary most would say. The bettor is permitted to place bets on multiple horses for any of the top two finishing positions. Many patrons place bets on several horses for the top two positions, resulting in many different possible winning combinations. For example, a Quinella bet with four different horses could result in eight possible winning combinations. The selection of horses is not limited to an exact position as long as they are in the first two spots; this is the main reason this intra-bet isn’t necessarily as risky or lucrative as the others.
Exacta intra-betting also known as Exactor betting is similar to Quinella intra-betting in regards to minimal risks in the number of bets; however betting is limited to an exact position. Because of the nature of this bet, common horse racing tips are to double up on the bet by choosing each horse in each position. For example, an Exacta Box would include the number four horse finishing first and the number three horse finishing second; the pairing bet would be the number three horse finishing first and the number four horse finishing second. It is not uncommon to place multiple Exacta bets in addition to doubling up on two horses with an Exacta Box; many feel this is the wisest bet with these minimal risk Exacta intra-bets.
The Trifecta or Triactor betting is seemingly an extension of Exacta betting; this is done by simply adding the third position to the wager. Now, the bettor needs the three chosen horses to finish in exactly the chosen order prior to the race. For example, the number three horse must finish first, the number four must finish second and the number six horse must finish third. Similar to the Exacta betting, Trifecta Boxes are a popular betting technique for the experienced bettor. A Trifecta Box results in six different possible wining combinations oppose to Exacta Box’s four. This is sole difference between the two intra-bets, this increases the degree of both risk and reward opposed to the two previously mentioned techniques.
Superfecta intra-bets take this one step further still all the way down to the fourth position. The bettor must now pick the first to fourth finishers in correct order prior to the race in order to become a winner. This is the most challenging and expensive of the intra-bets, but it is also the most lucrative in terms of pay-off. Unlike the other intra-bets, it is not as wise to employ multiple picks in Superfecta Boxes as this ultimately may result in a wasted effort and lost earnings. The expense of the Superfectas Box would outweigh the probability of success in the end.
Intra-bets are considerably more complicated than the traditional bet; the risk and reward are greater, as is the degree of experience needed for wise bets. Between Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta and Superfecta bets there are many opportunities and options for the most novice bettor to the most seasoned to make quite a profit or take a detrimental loss.
