Since I discussed color-coding your Holdem Manager HUD I keep reminding myself to also post the color ranges for individual poker stats. A couple of readers who are new to poker contacted me for the same reason as well and today I finally decided to publish the optimal range of each statistic. You see, when [...]

My poker blogging surely went south since it’s been a month since I last updated my blog’s poker section. During this time I visited Skyros island for a week and when I returned, I ordered a new solid state disk (SSD) for my desktop computer. I have thought of formatting and re-installing Windows for quite [...]

Wednesday may have been a breakeven poker day but yesterday I managed to lose 9 buy-ins at $50NL tables. Yes, that’s right, a $450 EV adjusted loss. Am I a great poker player or what? Obviously I experienced some tilt issues during the two sessions that I completed at the online poker tables of Pokerstars. [...]

Two losing days during the weekend cost 5 EV buy-ins at micro stakes, while the actual losses were more than five. Monday on the contrary was a great day, running very well and I managed to recoup the weekend’s losses and make even more. I completed 3 sessions at the poker tables yesterday, two 2-hour [...]

Aggressive players with position against me hurt my winrate during yesterday’s play at 50NL poker tables. I lost almost 4 buy-ins in Expected Value by not playing well and trying to recoup my losses. At one point I managed to show a profit, but quickly gave it back and decided it would be a 3-hour [...]

A quick post of yesterday’s +7 buy-ins day at $50NL, including some hopefully interesting poker stats. Friday has been the fourth winning day in a row this month playing at micro stakes. I ran at 16bb/100 or 8BB/100, although the W$SD% stat was disappointing at just 46%, hurting my overall W$SD% that is one of [...]

Net won figure of yesterday’s poker performance reads $740 at $50NL tables but the EV adjusted winnings were 8 buy-ins, ranking the day as the most profitable one, since I began posting again about poker. Obviously I ran pretty well for 7 buy-ins above Expected Value, so a correction is very likely the next days. [...]

Pokerstars gave me a 4 buy-ins birthday gift yesterday, which in fact didn’t surprise me at all! Is it just a coincidence that I was born on the fourth day of the week (beginning with Sunday, Wednesday is the 4th day), on the fourth day of the fourth month at 4:00 and on my 33rd [...]

Catching a river bluff and a thin value bet are two poker hands of my yesterday’s session that helped me win 3 buy-ins at $50NL PokerStars tables. Once again I’m talking about the EV adjusted winnings and not the actual ones, since I’d be bragging about a 7-buyin day! I also noticed that the poker [...]

Murphy’s law states that by publishing your poker winnings, a downswing is expected in the near future. Since my poker start over at micro stakes went public on Monday, I suffered a 5 buy-in downswing during yesterday’s 6-hour poker session. It was actually three 2-hour sessions for 6 hours of total play, as breaks are [...]
