Disclosure

The main purpose of this blog is to help other writers, bloggers, gamblers and investors tap into the power of blogging to market their investing efforts but it also helps me connect with new gambling, finance and sports betting clients. In addition to that I now make money directly through my blogs. If I like a product enough to mention it here and there’s an affiliate program I will join it. I also sell advertising and contribute articles for a small number of clients I am happy to endorse. Finally, I guest post on other blogs.

I am an ethical and principled sports, gambling and finance writer. I do not recommend services unless I stand behind them 100%.

Comments Policy

It’s a sad day and a happy day when you have to add a comments policy to your blog. Happy because to begin with my blog just attracted positive, useful comments but sad because unfortunately attracting spammy comments is a badge of success for a blog.

Writing this saddens me because 99.9% of people who leave comments are wonderful, genuine, helpful people who don’t need a comments policy and naturally behave respectfully online as they do in life.

But to avoid spam I’ve decided to have a no links in comments policy. If there’s a specific link you want people to check out please mention the site and post title so people can do a search for it if they like. If it’s on your blog they can always link to that from your name. I always check out recommended posts and I’m sure other people do too.

I also reserve the right to remove comments which are derogatory, crass or upsetting. Disagreement is fine but rudeness or irrelevancy aren’t.

Jim Makos Blog is a place where dynamic, motivated people hang out. The Jim Makos Blog team like to hang out with positive people in real life and here on our blog, so I remove unpleasant comments.

Thank You Commenters

My blog exists today because of the many kind people who’ve left comments or contacted me. There’s no doubt that if no one had ever left me a comment I’d have stopped blogging around the six month mark.

I still thrive on the comments and feedback from readers. I really appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me and the other readers. If you have your own blog I hope people will visit it because of that.

I love how we’re helping each other and building a dynamic community of diverse bloggers.

Please keep those brilliant comments coming.
