That's what I told a friend who asked me to meet me so that I could explain to him how to begin creating content and gaining a following.
But I'm better, simply because I have done this before. Not because my content will be better than his!
I'm better than you. For now.
For years, I was sick of watching people succeed online with worse skills than me.
Yet they executed.
In the meantime, what did I do?
I created plan after plan. I was reinventing myself over and over again.
I was overthinking.
Maybe that's how you feel about me.
Perhaps you could make better videos than me. Or create a more profitable business. Or, you can speak English much better (very likely).
Yet you're reading my letter instead of me reading yours. 馃槒
Does that make me better than you? No.
Sometimes, I feel I cannot compete online. Social media makes sure to remind me I'm not as skillful or smart as the competition every time I check a feed.
Then I remind myself that people are making a comfortable living by
- hiking
- sharing their depression
- by documenting their 9-5 job 馃憞
Surely, I can do something similar.
And I bet you can, too.
That's how I ended up posting a YouTube short every day this week.
